Adobe increases revenue through subscription model

Adobe has been offering its Creative Suite exclusively as a subscription model since 2013, thereby increasing its sales.

Success with software rental

Adobe has been offering its Creative Suite exclusively as a subscription model (SaaS) since 2013.

While some users were excited about the move from software purchases to software rentals, for the company it has been a hugely successful change.

In the first year after moving to the cloud, Adobe stock rose 81%. Before launching the Creative Cloud, Adobe had 12.8 million customers using different versions of the Creative Suite.

The cloud attracts users

The new subscription figures show that Adobe not only convinced all current users of the cloud, but also attracted many new users to the cloud.

A major advantage for users is that the software is now always up to date and buying annual updates is a thing of the past.
